Auto Power-on & Shut-down

Let's suppose you would like to download a large file over night and you want your computer to shut down when the download is complete. Or you would like to fall asleep while listening to your favorite music and, again, you want your computer to shut down by itself after some time.

The Windows operating system features some options for turning off the display or the hard disks after a specified amount of time but not for turning off the computer. So, the only solution left would be using a third party application that can automatically turn off your PC. Such a program is Auto Power-on & Shut-down.

As the name clearly suggests, the program allows anyone to program the operating system to automatically shut down itself using various settings. But that's not all. The software can also turn on the computer automatically at a certain hour, thus making it act as an advanced alarm clock. Unfortunately, not all computers support this feature.

The program can be installed on almost any version of the Windows operating system and takes little time and effort to complete the installation process. Auto Power-on & Shut-down takes up about 4 MB of hard disk space and requires low system resources.

When running the software for the first time, a window will be displayed, asking the user if he wants to test the power-on capability of this computer. Choosing to do this will turn off the computer and will try to automatically turn it back on after 3 minutes. If it doesn't turn on, then the computer is not compatible with the power-on feature.

The interface of Auto Power-on & Shut-down allows adding various tasks to its list. Thus, the computer can be set to power off, standby or hibernate at certain hours or days. Besides that, it can also display a reminder after a certain amount of time, helping the user recall a certain event, for example. Besides turning off or putting the computer into standby, Auto Power-on & Shut-down can also launch a certain program or file or browse to a specific website at a chosen time.

Auto Power-on & Shut-down can be set to start together with Windows and always run minimized, for not tempering with the user's work. Moreover, the number of tasks that can be added is unlimited.
